Visits Abroad
1997
In November 1997 our Band participated in the feast of St Andrew the Apostle at Amalfi, Italy. St Andrew is the patron saint of this old city. During the same visit the band also held a concert at the church of Scala and also visited the Vatican City. During the latter visit, the Band played the Inno Pontificio at Sala Nervi and our musicians had the honour to meet St John Paul II. This was a unique experience for all that participated in this trip more than twenty years ago.
2018
Following an invitation from H.E Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, former President of Malta, our Band held a concert at the `Sala Gialla` at the Royal Palace of Palermo. This concert was held on Saturday 15th April 2018, under the patronage of Gianfranco Micciche’, the President of the Assemblea Regionale Siciliana, the regional parliament of Sicily. During its visit the band committee and members had also the privilege to meet Prof. Leo Luca Orlanco, Palermo`s Mayor. This visit was organised to mark Malta`s participation in an art exhibition focusing on Santa Rosalia, Palermo`s patron saint.
